The Chicago White Sox shift Josh Fields to the outfield
The Chicago White Sox have shifted Josh Fields to left field to get him ready to play there in 2008 when Joe Crede returns. Fields has played in 77 games this season for the White Sox and he is 69 for 288 (.240 avg, .750 OPS) with 33 runs scored, 17 homers and 51 RBIs. His only glaring weakness is that he whiffs a ton (101 times this year). Scott Podsednik loses his starting job due to this move. He has not played well this season and probably deserved to grab some pine. In 46 games for the Pale Hose this season he is 39 for 152 (.257 avg, .704 OPS) with 23 runs scored, 2 homers, 10 RBIs and 9 stolen bases.
