The White Sox have designated Alex Cintron for assignment. The 29-year old switch-hitter played in 68 games last season for the White Sox and he was 45 for 185 (.243 avg, .605 OPS) with 23 runs scored, 2 homers and 19 RBIs. Cintron has now played in 598 games in his major league career and he is 525 for 1,897 (.277 avg, .716 OPS) with 231 runs scored, 32 homers, 212 RBIs and 18 stolen bases.
