The Chicago White have appeared to steal 25-year old righty swinging Carlos Quentin from the Arizona Diamondbacks over the winter. Quentin has played in 116 games for the White Sox this season and he is 123 for 429 (.287 avg, .958 OPS) with 85 runs scored, 33 homers, 91 RBIs and 5 stolen bases. Without Quentin there is no way the White Sox would be contending in the American League Central. They did give up 21-year old 1B Chris Carter who was traded by the D-Backs to the A’s to get Dan Haren so I guess they are happy with the trade. Carter has played in 120 games in A-ball for the A’s this season and he is 120 for 444 (.270 avg, .957 OPS) with 91 runs scored, 35 homers, 98 RBIs and 4 stolen bases. Quentin will be a big part of the White Sox’ future as he has proven to be an outstanding major league player.
