The Chicago White Sox are still not clicking yet in 2010

The White Sox had to come back yesterday to salvage one win against the Twins over the weekend. They are now tied for last with the Royals & Indians at 2-4 on the season, 3 games behind the Tigers already. The White Sox are wasted some good pitching as they have only scored 21 points (they have allowed 20) so far this season. The White Sox will try to find their bats on the road starting with 4 games in Toronto starting today and then they travel to Cleveland for a three game series this weekend.

The Chicago White Sox get brought back to reality

Everything went perfect in the season opener against the Indians but it turned sour the last two nights. The White Sox just have not hit the ball well as Gordon Beckham is the only player on the team with a batting average over .250 (.273)! The White Sox outscored the Indians 12-10 in the first series of the year but they still stand at 1-2 on the year. The Twins are coming to town starting tonight and the White Sox can’t afford to sleepwalk in this series or they will be in last place by the end of the weekend.

The Chicago White Sox’ best two pitchers this season have been Jenks and Vazquez

Jenks has been a very bright spot for the White Sox this season.  He has pitched in 63 games this season and he is 3-5 with 38 saves, a 2.90 ERA and a 0.90 WHIP.  Jenks has now worked 62 innings this season and he has allowed only 43 hits, walked 13 batters and whiffed 56.  Javier Vazquez has been the best starting pitcher for the White Sox this season.  In 30 starts, he is 13-8 with a 3.83 ERA and a 1.15 WHIP.  In 202 innings, Vazquez has allowed 185 hits, walked 47 batters and whiffed 193.  The White Sox are currently 65-86 which has them in last place in the A.L. Central, 24 games behind the Indians and 1/2 a game behind the Royals.

Can the Chicago White Sox get out of the basement?

Blogged under Front Page, Weekly Results, Bloglockers by chinmusic on Wednesday 12 September 2007 at 8:12 pm

Time is running out for the underachieving White Sox if they want to get out of last place. They are currently 61-84 which has them 24 games behind the Cleveland Indians in the American League Central.  What is more shocking than that is the White Sox are 1.5 games behind the Kansas City Royals.  It will be up to the bullpen to protect a couple leads if the White Sox are going to get out of the basement.

The Chicago White Sox have been awful this season

What a nightmare this season has been for the Chicago White Sox.  The White Sox have only won 2 of their last 10 games and it’s because of lousy pitching and hitting.  The Sox are now 58-79 on the season which has them in last place in the American League Central, 21 games behind the Cleveland Indians.  The Pale Hose are last in the American League in runs scored with 575 (4.2 per game) and they have allowed the 2nd most runs in the American League (732, 5.3 runs per game) and that is a recipe for disaster.  Paul Konerko (.262, 27 HRs, 73 RBIs), Jermaine Dye (.246, 26 HRs, 67 RBIs) and Jim Thome (.268 avg, 23 HRs, 73 RBIs) all have good power numbers but none of them have been consistent this season.  Mark Buehrle (9-9, 3.47 ERA) and Javier Vazquez (11-8, 3.91 ERA) should both be able to sue the offense for non-support as they have each pitched much better than their record shows.  Closer Bobby Jenks has been outstanding again this season as he is 3-4 with 36 saves and a 2.72 ERA.
